Crusing Concierge on Disney Magic

Just this past February my husband and two boys sailed on our 5th Disney Cruise on Magic. We upgraded to concierge for the first time. We already got a taste of it when we cruised last December with friends that did concierge and from the little we experienced like sneaking in the concierge lounge with them and getting a Castaway Cay cabana we knew concierge was definitely for us!

Here's the breakdown of concierge.

1. Arrive at port and get your own dedicated concierge check-in line (which isn't long)

2. Wait in separate lounge away from crowd.

3. Then get whisked away (early) before the rest of the cruisers to concierge lounge on-board. There you can get your kids their kid club bands, have some tapas (appetizers) and cocktails (free!) and concierge hosts introduce themselves and then get into your rooms early.

4. ROOMS - OMG they are amazing! We always do a suite (one bedroom is good for fam of four). I always buy themed gifts on the from the "onboard gift site" and the room hosts have it all set up super decorated before you arrive. Our last cruise I did the Star Wars Glow in the Dark decor. 

5. CONCIERGE HOSTS ARE THE BEST! We had Andy and Michelle on Magic and they were amazing. Anything we wanted they made it happen for us. Like changing reservations, cancelling reservations, getting you anything you want to eat for in-room dining. We did this in the mornings a lot to avoid the crowds.

As a side note - my son had a sudden asthma attack when we first got on-board in the concierge lounge. His nebulizer was packed away and his meds too. It had been two years since he had an attack. The health center was not open but Michelle called to the medical staff and they opened up for us and treated him as if he was at the ER. They are more than a "health center" they are a full-blown hospital and had every med possible you could ask for! 1 hour later my son was back to normal and ready to start his vacation! Thank you Disney Magic medical staff!

6. HAPPY HOUR - more like HAPPY 5 HOURS! At least on the Magic happy hour was from 5pm to 10pm! We seriously took advantage of this. Beer, wine and appetizers!

7. CABANAS ON CASTAWAY CAY -  You really can only reserve these if you are at concierge level. Cabanas are like having your own little beach house for a day with a private non-crowded beach with snacks, sodas, towels, shower, sunblock, and rides to and from the ship on the golf carts. The concierge hosts follow you to the cabanas and visit you as needed. It's the most relaxing day ever AND I HAVE BEEN TO SOME NICE BEACHES elsewhere. Castaway Cay and the cabanas are better than 5 stars in my book.

8. Little surprises here and there... yes, I won't spoil it but one of their signature gifts are special lithograph prints (16 x 20) of some Disney character(s). It's amazing and I frame mine back home. You can only obtains these as concierge guests.

9. Lounge party with character meet and greet. The characters vary but last time we got to meet and take pics with Stitch!
