Yo ho, yo ho, it's a PIRATES "night" for me!

Up on pool deck during pirate show.
If you are soon to be embarking on your first Disney cruise you cannot forget to bring your pirate costumes! When we went on our first cruise we were so unprepared and didn't even know about pirate night. Typically, after your day at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, the evening dinner will be pirate themed and a pirate show that evening on the pool deck. The dinner is so fun since EVERYONE dresses up and the show is really something you cannot miss!

As for myself and my family we bring our own costumes. One, it is a lot more cost effective and two, you can pull off something more unique. The other option for kids is to have them get fully made up in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Fantasy Ship at this time only. This costs extra of course and they do have only a few different kinds of costumes so many of the kids look alike.

Our last cruise my son and I really went all out with our costumes. My husband and my younger son weren't really into it, but next time I am going to insist that we all match! I highly recommend shopping for costumes on Ebay. I was able to get the full Captain Hook costume for a fraction of the cost from an Ebay seller. Party City is also a perfect place to stock up on pirate costumes and accessories especially right after Halloween.
